The Presidential Office Building
Built during the time of the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, the Presidential Office Building is recognizable from a distance. The Tower stands 60 metres high. The complex was opened to tourists in 1988
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
The impressive Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is the most popular attraction in Taipei City. Covering an area in excess of 250,000 square metres, the Hall and surrounding sights make for an interesting day trip, with beautiful Chinese inspired gardens complementing the architecture. Located in central Taipei.
National Museum of History
Built in 1955, the National Museum of History has a large collection of artifacts from the Island of Taiwan and from mainland China. Centrally located in Taipei, it makes for a fascinating half day excursion
Longshan Temple
Longshan Temple in Taipei was originally built by settlers from Fuijan Province, the closest point to Taiwan on the mainland. The temple has undergone many resurrections due to fire and earthquake. During World War Two the American Air force destroyed the temple claiming that it was a storage facility for weapons by the occupying Japanese
Huaxi Street Night Market
Located near Longshan Temple is the Huaxi Street Night Market. Enjoy wandering around the market stalls searching for bargains or souvenirs. Afterwards, enjoy fantastic local food from the many choices on offer
Sun Moon Lake
Travel to the middle of Taiwan and you can enjoy the delights of this large in land lake. The name is derived from the shape of the Southern and Northern tip of La Lu Island representing a Sun and Moon respectively
Kenting National Park
Venture to the Southern most tip of Taiwan and discover Kenting National Park. The National Park has everything from mountain scenery to beautiful beaches. To the east is the Karst landscape more associated with southern China. This beautiful place makes for a wonderful day tour
Taitung
Taitung County is a less well known area of Taiwan, yet it has huge relevance to the Island. Off the coast is Orchid Island home to the indigenous Taiwan Aboriginals, have believed to have lived her for more than 8000 years
Taroko Gorge
Established in 1937 during the Japanese occupation Taroko National park is named after Taroko Gorge, the landmark gorge of the park. The gorge is also known as Marble Gorge due to the large quantities of the valued stone found here
